Branson, Missouri, is quickly becoming one of the country’s top golfing locations and with good reason: the city and surrounding area boasts several top-notch golf resorts and country clubs designed for golfers of every skill and interest level.  Also, Branson’s convenient, centralized location makes it the perfect spot for families and groups of friends to gather from all over the country.  May is Golf Month in Branson, and it’s the perfect time to visit for you next golf trip.

The Top of the Rock Golf Course is just south of Branson and its picturesque grounds and beautiful vistas draw visitors from all over the country.  The first ever par-3 course to be included in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event, the Top of the Roc Golf Course was created by Johnny Morris with the assistance of golf legends Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and Arnold Palmer.  This challenging course holds the distinction of being the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Design 9 hole, par 3 course in Missouri.  38 percent of the 47-acre course has either been kept in its natural state or has been planted in native species, giving players the feel of being one with their natural surroundings.  Golfers will take stone bridges across meandering streams, play past majestic waterfalls and tranquil lakes, and take in epic views from Top of the Rock’s pristine fairways.  Beginners needing to learn golf basics and expert golfers wishing to hone their skills can all take advantage of lessons taught by Top of the Rock’s resident PGA pros.  Be sure to contact the staff there for details.  After you finish your round of golf, make sure to stop by Arnie’s Barn for a meal at this world-class restaurant.  The building is a 150-year-old barn that was transferred to Top of the Rock from Arnold Palmer’s backyard.  It was lovingly restored and converted to house the course’s restaurant and pro shop.

One of Branson’s most popular golf destinations is Thousand Hills Golf Resort located in the heart of Branson not far from some of the city’s most exciting attractions.  The golf course at Thousand Hills is so beautiful and quiet that you won’t be able to believe that it’s so close to the hustle and bustle of the Branson Strip.  This accessible course was rated 4 stars by Golf Digest Magazine and has three separate sets of tees to cater to players of every skill level.  Players will be impressed by the sculptured fairways, unique sand traps and natural hazards, and the resort’s seasoned golf pros are available to help players improve their game.  These pros offer several types of lessons which include putting tips, lessons on how to improve your golf grip and swing, and how to drive the ball farther.  With all this expert instruction, you’re sure to be a better player when you leave Thousand Hills than when you arrived.

Pointe Royale’s 18-hole, par 70 course is known as Branson’s original 18-hole course and, once you see its beautifully-landscaped grounds, you’ll understand why the course continues to be one of Branson’s top golf spots.   This course features lush greens, crisp, white sand traps, crystal-clear lakes and fountains, and streams crossed by picturesque bridges.  Pointe Royale’s golf carts are top of the line and equipped with GPS which means you won’t have to waste your time on the course if you get turned around.  You can take advantage of their chipping and putting practice green, and golf pros are available to help you improve your game.  The course has recently been renovated so, even if you’ve visited Pointe Royale in the past, you may see something new on your next trip.

Whether you’re a novice or an expert golfer, there is something for you in Branson, Missouri, during the month of May.  We’ll see you on the course!
