Silver Dollar City Overview

Silver Dollar City is rooted in the tradition of exploring Marvel Cave and showcasing local craftsmen. Since its earliest days, you can be sure that both these cornerstones to the park will be present. Marvel Cave, discovered nearly 100 years ago and now open for visitor tours, is a living piece of history that you can experience during your Silver Dollar City visit. It does contain quite a bit of walking, so be prepared with the appropriate footwear.

Silver Dollar City features over 40 thrilling rides & attractions, 18 award-winning restaurants, 60 unique shops, live shows and concerts…all sitting atop one of Missouri’s deepest caves!

Throughout the year, over 100 craftsmen show off their skills each day at Silver Dollar City. Many of the craftsmen will allow you to get hands-on, and they love sharing the secrets of their skills with you. From candle making, basket weaving, wood carving and silversmithing, taking home a piece of handmade work from Silver Dollar City is a real treat.

World-class festivals and events are showcased from spring through Christmas.  During Christmas, the park is illuminated with over 6.5 million lights!  Seven annual festivals with special happenings, shows, and events means there are at least seven times you need to return to Silver Dollar City!

Entertainment for the whole family

Silver Dollar City is also home to the world’s most daring roller coasters. In 2018, Silver Dollar City unveiled the Time Traveler steel extreme spinning roller coaster.  Time Traveler became the tallest and fastest spinning roller coaster and the first of its kind to feature three inversions.  Topping at a speed of 68 miles per hour, Outlaw Run is the world’s second steepest wooden coaster and the first featuring three inversions.  You’ll also want to take a ride on Thunderation, Powder Keg, and Wild Fire as well.  Lastly, don’t miss Mystic River Falls river raft ride.  Opened in summer 2020, Mystic River Falls boasts the tallest rapids drop in the western hemisphere.

Fireman’s Landing is an “old-time volunteer firefight recruitment fair”. Here you are able to experience 6 family rides and 4 interactive play zones. This is a hit for children and parents alike. Soar high into the sky on the 8-story “Firefall”, ride or watch the kiddies on the “Up the Ladder” ride, a much smaller tower drop ride. The “Fireman’s Flyer”, “Fire Spotter”, “Fire Wagon Frenzy”, and “Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs” are among the rides that little ones love. You can also race each other in the “Firefighter’s Fire Drill”, “Firefighter’s Fire Escape”, or “Firefighter’s Junior Fire Escape”, all fun play areas and obstacles courses for the whole family.

When you have seen and done it all in Fireman’s Landing, cool off in the “Firehouse Splash Yard” after a long day of exploring the park.

The Grand Exposition area is a family-friendly destination within the theme park. In this area you’ll find carnival style games and rides. There is something for all ages from a kiddie coaster to rides that nearly turn you upside down! This area is beautifully decorated and a great place to stop for a rest during your fun filled Silver Dollar City day.

Along with adrenaline pumping rides, Silver Dollar City is known for its entertainment. Each festival or special event brings different performance groups, so rarely will you see the same entertainment twice at Silver Dollar City. Besides touring acts, Silver Dollar City produces its own world-class shows that have become very popular with park visitors.
